Refugees in Tempe are learning to be caregivers. More immigrants could help the shortage
Thank you to Tempe Post Acute and Shantelle Harker for their participation in AHCA Works, an eight-week program that trains individuals to become certified nursing assistants or CNAs. Through this program, Tempe Post Acute is helping refugees find jobs within the caregiving workforce. Recently, a local radio station 91.5 KJZZ featured Tempe Post Acute and this training program in an incredible article!
Lip-Syncing Competition for Skilled Nursing Week
Rock Canyon Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center celebrated this year's National Nursing Home Week with a lip-syncing competition for the ages! Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers won first place while the Village People came in a close second. They had a panel of judges for the competition and celebrated with cake and punch. The residents had an absolute hay day!
